WWF(세계자연기금) Climate & Energy Programme Officer는 인류와 자연이 조화를 이루는 미래를 구축하기 위하여 지구온난화를 1.5도로 제한하는 것을 궁극적인 목표로기후 완화 부문을 중심으로 활동하게 됩니다여기에는 기업금융기관정부시민 등 다양한 이해관계자와의 소통이 포함됩니다. Climate & Energy Practice에 소속되어 국내 Conservation Programme & Partnership 팀과 긴밀히 협력하며 일하게 됩니다.

 

Department Goals

By 2030, an equitable and just transition is underway that limits warming to 1.5°C, protects people and nature, and builds a climate resilient future.

 

Major Functions of the Position

Climate & Energy Programme Officer works under the supervision of Climate & Energy Programme Manager and is responsible for the assigned activities execution of Climate & Energy Programme (hereafter, the Programme) and projects within the Programme to contribute to achieve the goal and outcomes. He/she represents climate mitigation work to internal and external stakeholders and partner relations with government, private sector and civil society for the objectives (subject to be adjusted) as follows:

l  By 2030, the world's greenhouse gas emissions are cut by at least 40% from 2010 levels, supported by the required systemic change in finance.

l  Influence the Korean government to set up an ambitious national target to reduce GHG emission and transit to renewable energy to achieve the Paris Agreement’s goal.

l  Motivate Korean companies to participate in climate change mitigation actions with SBT initiative and Right to Renewable Energy initiative.

 

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

Execute Climate & Energy Programme

l  Execute the Korea Climate & Energy Programme strategy: Execute focused activities of the Programme strategy and support developing strategy to achieve goals and outcomes.

l  Deliver the Korea climate and energy positions and key messages: Support preparing and delivering positions and effective key messages for communications with corporates, governments and cities to motivate market shifts and movements in climate change mitigation with thorough consideration of the Practice positions and local circumstances

l  Engage with corporate and public sector: Build effective partnerships with key stakeholders including those from corporate, government and NGO sectors in order to achieve strategic outcomes. Manage collaboration based on technical programme knowledge and insights with corporates, governments, and other NGOs

l  Internal and external communication: Support developing communication plan and context of climate and energy messages and collaborate with communication team to reach out to the stakeholders

 

Execute climate and energy projects within the Programme

l  Support proposal development and try to get the funds to secure stable on-going programme activities with high quality

l  Execute project delivery from project planning to successful delivery on scope of works agreed and achieve project objectives and outcomes

l  Manage project financials and funder expectation through appropriate communication and reporting

 

Support designing the climate and energy programme sustainability

l  Support designing the new initiatives plan so to achieve the outcomes and align with the Practice ACAI (Area of Collective Action and Innovation) and global initiatives under the supervision of Climate & Energy Programme Manager

l  Research global trends and market situations to plan the new initiatives or projects such as sustainable finance practice or coal phase out global initiatives

l  Plan the new initiative projects to achieve the Programme outcomes

 

Qualification & Experience

l  Bachelor’s (or higher) degree needed

l  Specialized in environment / business management related to corporate social value / sustainable business, corporate environment management is preferred.

l  Minimum 2 years of professional job experience in project management / corporate relationship management, business to business sales / business to business marketing are needed

l  Working experiences in government agencies, large / medium scale of companies, / other relevant organizations are preferred.

l  Experiences in working with team & collaborating teams in enterprises needed

l  Excellent written, verbal & interpersonal communication skills in both English & Korean

l  Strong leadership with clear task ownership & issue handling skills

l  Knowledge of research tools & methodology

l  Ability to collect & analyze useful data & information

l  Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time & within budget

l  Commitment to, demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team

l  Ability to work unsupervised, in a rapidly changing environment

l  Effective computer & office tools skills.

 

Working Relationships

Internal

l  reports to climate & energy programme manager, collaborates with conservation and partnership team as a teammate, collaborates with communication team, fundraising team, and finance and administration team, and works with conservation director and other relevant colleagues in the network

 

External

l  governments, private sector, corporate, civil societies, and domestic market subject matter experts

 

Type of contract

l  Opened term (following 3 months probationary period)
