Education
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in economics or related area is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A PhD in a field related to commodities is desirable.

Work Experience
A minimum of fifteen years of progressively responsible professional experience dealing with international economic issues is required.
Out of these, at least 10 years of experience in the area of commodities is desirable.
Experience of policy analysis and technical assistance in the area of commodities is desirable.
Experience in the management of teams is desirable.
