The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) will report to the Deputy Executive Director and lead the RMU. The CRO supports the elaboration of risk registers and facilitates risk assessments in large and complex operations with a view to updating analysis and management measures and, when required, integrating new measures to mitigate priority risks in programme implementation while protecting operational delivery.
The incumbent leads the ERM Secretariat at Headquarters as well as the network of Risk Management practitioners across UNICEF, with the objective of improving the application of risk management and meeting evolving organizational needs. The CRO shall identify systemic and emerging risks requiring a corporate-wide response and champion good risk management practices and lessons learnt across the organization. The CRO represents UNICEF in high level meetings, symposia, fora, and conferences and builds organizational networks with peers in the UN system and other relevant sectors as applicable.
